NOTICE – The next meeting of the BR RC Club will be Tuesday October 5th at the Greenwell Springs Road Library at 7:00 PM

I understand that Ladies Night went very well.  I was unable to make it as we had other plans but heard that extra tables had to be set up.

At the September meeting it was voted on that the newsletter come out as soon after the meeting as I can do it.  This will give me the opportunity to summarize the minutes of the meeting.

Old Business
Blackie gave the field committee report.  He thanked Glenn Darce for repairs to the tractor.  They also sold the aluminum cans for $47 and used this for field maintenance.

Bob McMillan gave a safety report.  The first aid cabinet has been restocked.  He also talked about an accident with a 47 lb plane going out of control.  He stressed that when planes are in the air we should try and keep an eye on what is going on.

Neal Callaway passed away Saturday 4th for a massive stroke. In lieu of flowers for the funeral the club will donate $50.00 to the American Heart Association in his memory.  He was a friend to all and will be missed greatly.

Mike Goetzman gave an update on the Big Bird, scheduled for Saturday Sept 25th.  We have a couple of 10-foot banners for the entrance.  He does not have a confirmation from the Boy Scouts.  Acadian Ambulance will have a unit on standby at the field.

George Sexton is in need of observers at the pilot stations to help with traffic when planes land and takeoff.  We also need to make sure there are enough fire extinguishers for the gas powered planes.

Ray Shook will handle the swap shop.  Bring your old stuff to the fly-in and let the club make a bit from it.
New business.

Bob McMillan made a motion that we provide flowers or other honorarium in the event one of our members or his / her spouse passes away.  All others will be handled on a case by case basis by donations from the membership.

Ray Reed, an old returning member, and Mike Robertson, a beginner, were voted in as new members.

Richard Mason made a motion that we change the issue date of our newsletter to one week after the meeting.
